Racing Lines Team
Racing-Lines is a Motorsport Race Team formed in 2019, competing in the BRSCC run UK C1 Endurance Series which takes place around the UK at prominent circuits, including Belgium’s famous Spa-Francorchamps.
The team also competes in the SMRC C1 Championship at the famous Knockhill Race Circuit.
The team is co run by husband and wife, Melvin and Katrina Gray.
Katrina Gray
Katrina is the team manager for the UK endurance races, liaising between the club and the team, she is responsible for a multitude of roles at these events, from pit wall duties to coordinating the team and drivers and making sure the race run smoothly and stress free between staff drivers and club.
In the SMRC C1 Championship,
Katrina swaps roles from team manager to racing driver, and competes in the Knockhill rounds, she is currently the only female race driver on the grid so far this season.
Katrina‘s day job, (as well as being a mum to 2 teenagers), is running a successful driving school, as an ADI, qualified to teach, coach and instruct speed awareness courses, she has a career that has grown and developed over the last 15 years, she is currently training to take her HGV license, so can drive the Racing Lines truck to events.
She gets passionately involved in anything to do with Women in Motorsport, she actively promotes her own social media pages, including ‘Katrina Gray Racing’, and you won’t miss her competing in her favourite colour scheme of black and pink.
Mel Gray
Melvin, (or Mel as he prefers), had been involved around motorsport since a child with his father, he worked most of his career as a HGV driver, and when he stopped HGV driving he took up a role as a supercar instructor, coaching the paying public in their favourite supercar. He was also a high speed passenger driver, providing hot laps for those who wanted a little more speed.
Mel has also worked as a wet grip/skid pan instructor at the iconic Rockingham circuit prior to its closure, he has also worked as a HGV skid pan instructor, and worked on the wet grip at Thruxton.
As well as co running the team Mel also swaps roles at Knockhill, and pilots their second C1, competing alongside Katrina.
After paying for an arrive and drive in 2019 they had the idea of running and racing their own car, The result was Racing-Lines.
